year 2006
  • Herbal medicine is used to positively affect organs and tissues in a deliberate and healing manner.

Toxins play a large part in the production of disease in Alternative health as much disease stems from poisons in our food, air, and water. Toxin elimination is important because absorbed toxins hinder proper body function thereby creating morbid conditions which predispose to disease. Eliminate the toxins and you eliminate the disease.

Herbal medicine as practiced by a professional herbalist is used to feed the body and restore health by improving natural functions within the body over time. More health means less disease.

"I am a Healer, meaning that I work through natural means to improve health and well-being while they, the medicos, suppress symptoms. We are at completely opposite ends of the health-care spectrum. Further, I have moral constraints: no animal experimentation; only health-promoting treatments; tried & true practices proven over hundreds of years; and the use of simple, natural (not exotic) substances."

. They say in some parts that people can die of too much education ... I'm starting to get worried.

A solution to health care difficulties in Canada. Make Mark happy, read this proposal (presented to the Green Party of Canada) for revamping Medicare. It addresses health care from the patient perspective and prioritizes health care spending according to consumer demand instead of from the monopoly medico supplier of health services perspective.
