Common Name: Arnica flowers


Use: healing bruising, dermal bleeding and inflammation.
Comment: antibacterial, antifungal, rubefacient, counter-irritant.
Tincture: 1:5 @ 25% ?

Constituents:   

Alkaloid
AmineTryamine and b-phenylethylamine.
Bitter glycosideArnicin - 4%.
Essential oil0.5 - 1.0%. Including thymol esters, arnidol, faradiol, and the sesquiterpene arnicolide.
Flavonoids. Including kaempferol (decreases growth), quercetol (increases growth).
Polyacetylenes. Antibacterial, antifungal.
Resin
Sesquiterpene lactones. Including autumnolide, heneladin. Anti-tumor activity.
Tannins.
